Vowbound — Ironsworn playstyle and oracle content

Vowbound is MythmakeRPG’s rules-driven playstyle. Its game rules, moves, asset cards, and progress mechanics are based on the Ironsworn tabletop roleplaying game, and our oracle tables (yes/no odds tiers, meaning word-pairs, and event/plot tables) are sourced from the same family of games via the Datasworn project, which provides them as machine-readable JSON.

This work is based on Ironsworn, Ironsworn: Delve, and Ironsworn: Starforged, created by Shawn Tomkin, and licensed for our use under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).

Original mechanics

MythmakeRPG’s freeform Mythweave playstyle is inspired by the GM-emulator style of solo play pioneered by Tana Pigeon’s genre-defining Mythic Game Master Emulator (Word Mill Games) — if you enjoy Mythweave, go discover the classic that started it all. Mythweave’s entropy dial, omen (yes/no) odds math, scene test, and random-event trigger are original implementations written for this project. No tables, text, or terminology from Mythic Game Master Emulator are used or reproduced, and MythmakeRPG is not affiliated with or endorsed by Word Mill Games.
