What the export actually contains

When you export from the Reading & Export panel, Soliloquest assembles your campaign into a structured ebook:

Chaptered prose. Each scene becomes a chapter with a title drawn from your journal. The AI Storyteller’s narration, your oracle results, and your own notes are woven into flowing prose — not raw log entries.
A table of contents. Long campaigns become navigable. Jump to the scene where your vow almost broke, or re-read the chapter where the world first surprised you.
Inline scene illustrations. Any images generated during play are embedded at the right moment in the narrative, so the ebook reads like an illustrated novel.
An AI-generated cover. This is the part that tends to stop people mid-scroll. Soliloquest generates a bespoke cover image for your specific campaign — your world, your protagonist, your title, rendered in a style that matches the tone of your story. It shows up on the spine in Apple Books. It’s the first thing you see when you open the file.

The prose and the export itself are free. The cover art draws on approximately one image credit (the same pool used for scene illustrations during play). If you’d rather skip the generated art, you can supply your own cover image instead — the export works either way.

Why EPUB, not PDF?

PDF is a fixed page. EPUB is a book — it reflows for whatever screen you’re reading on, respects your font preferences, and works natively with every major e-reader app and device. A 40-scene campaign that would sprawl across 80 awkward PDF pages becomes a tidy novella on your phone.

You can also export to Markdown if you want the raw source: paste it into Obsidian, run it through Pandoc, or hand it to a layout tool. The EPUB is the polished artifact; Markdown is the open format for people who want to do more with the text.

One of the things that distinguishes Soliloquest from AI chat tools is that the oracle — not the AI — decides what happens. The AI narrates; the dice rule. That separation matters for the ebook too.

When you export, you’re exporting your decisions. How it compares to other solo tools

Most solo RPG apps — digital or otherwise — don’t produce a finished artifact at all. You end up with notes in a notebook, a Discord thread, or a folder of session logs. A few tools export to PDF, which is better than nothing but reads like a document rather than a story.

Getting your first export

The short version:

Finish (or pause) a campaign with at least a few scenes.
Open the Reading & Export panel.
Choose Export as EPUB.
Decide whether you want the AI-generated cover or your own image.
Download and open in your ebook app of choice.
