Session 0 — Creating a Campaign
In tabletop tradition, Session 0 is where you decide what the campaign is before play begins. Tap + New campaign on Home to open it. Everything here can be changed later — and most of it is optional.
Mode
Who drives the story. This shapes which fields appear below (and you can switch modes anytime during play):
- Assistant — You drive; it scribes & rolls. You narrate and decide; the AI handles oracles, bookkeeping, and journaling.
- Game Master — It drives; you decide. The AI frames scenes and presents situations; you choose what your protagonist does.
- Autonomous — It plays itself; you watch. The AI plays the protagonist too, pausing for your review.
In Game Master and Autonomous modes, the world-building fields below disappear — the agent runs its own interactive Session 0 when play begins (suggesting settings and protagonists, or letting the oracle decide). The form only needs a name (it will title the campaign itself if you leave it blank).
Setting & oracle flavor
Picks the world’s flavor and which oracle tables season your story:
- Space — space-opera frontier.
- Fantasy — dark fantasy.
- Dungeon Crawl — dungeon sites & delving.
The world (Assistant mode)
- Campaign name — optional; defaults to “Untitled Campaign”.
- Premise / setting notes — a sentence or two of where and what. “a derelict ring-station above a dead world.”
- Starting threads — open goals or questions, one per line. “Find out who killed the station AI.” Threads are the story’s to-do list; the AI weaves toward them.
- Characters — one per line as
Name — description. “Vesh — a salvager, the protagonist.”
✨ Suggest a campaign
Don’t want to start from a blank page? ✨ Suggest a campaign generates a coherent bundle — name, premise, starting threads, and characters — flavored by your selected setting and seeded by oracle rolls.
- Anything you’ve already typed is kept. Wrote a premise but no name? The suggestion builds a name, threads, and characters that fit your premise.
- Click again to re-roll. Each pass draws fresh oracle inspiration.
- Everything lands in the form fields, fully editable before you begin.
Suggestions use AI generation, so they spend a little of your credit balance.
Style & feel
- Journaling style — the voice your story is written in: cinematic, literary, pulp, noir, or terse.
- Guidance (Assistant mode; change anytime) — how much coaching the
interface gives:
- Unguided — just a quiet status. No nudges.
- Soft — compass + suggestions on tap. One gentle chaos nudge.
- Guided — active coaching through each beat.
- Who authors the story? (Assistant mode; change anytime)
- Player-led — presents rolls; you interpret; it embellishes the journal.
- Collaborative — the assistant interprets & narrates with you.
- Starting chaos factor — a 1–9 slider. Higher chaos means a more volatile world: scenes twist more often and fate runs stranger. 5 is a balanced start. See Oracles & Chaos.
Begin the story
Creates the campaign and drops you into Scene 1 on the Play screen. In Game Master and Autonomous modes, the agent’s Session 0 conversation begins immediately.
